What makes a revolution, anyway? In the latest episode of “Office Hours,” Anna Vincenzi, assistant professor of modern European history, discusses evolving Italian attitudes towards the American Revolution. Vincenzi explains that Italians initially viewed the American Revolution not as a high-minded or revolutionary event, but as a British civil war. That all changed after the French Revolution. This is the seventeenth in a series of virtual visits with Hillsdale faculty.
In the latest “Radio Free Hillsdale Hour,” host Scot Bertram interviews journalist Salena Zito. They discuss Zito’s trademark on-the-ground reporting on President Trump and his political movement, the keys to understanding the 2024 election, and her experience standing feet from Trump as he narrowly avoided assassination. Zito is the author of the new book Butler: The Untold Story of the Near Assassination of Donald Trump and the Fight for America’s Heartland.
Hillsdale Student Takes Second Place at “Trial by Combat”
Patrick McDonald ‘26 took second place in Trial by Combat, a one-on-one collegiate mock trial national championship co-hosted by Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law and UCLA School of Law. The event is open to only the top 16 individual mock trial competitors in the nation. Abigail Davis ‘25 assisted McDonald as his second chair.
